I am thinking about buying a youth size aftermarket stock for this rifle for my grandsons to use. I won't cut the original stock. When I started looking for a stock I realized I don't know if the rifle is a long action or a short action. I bought the rifle new in 2000. My son in law wants to buy youth model rifles for them but I got to thinking this rifle would make the perfect youth rifle if it had a shorter stock.  I made the mistake of building “Youth Rifles'' for my sons by modifying surplus military rifles. They outgrew them in seemed like 'Minutes” and by modifying them it ruined any possible value. Won't make that mistake again. Anyway,Is my rifle a long or a short action? Thanks, Flshman
