In 45 ACP, I've had good luck with Titegroup and 200gr LSWC.

In 380, I've had good luck with Win 231.

Bullseye has been used in both calibers for about 100 years.

We used Bullseye, Unique and WW-231 at the police department and all three have always had a place on my shelf. Can't really go wrong with them.

I have not been able to find any Bullseye or Alliant 2400 anywhere for some time.  Does anyone know of a current source where these powders are available?

My brother in Ohio found four pounds of Bullseye at a local gun shop and drove it out to WA for me. Did I tell you he was a really nice guy?

Hey IIICrows I'm a Red dot fan and now a Promo user. Although you specified 45 and 380, I don't load 380's. 45 and 9mm are in my repertoire so I believe it is applicable. Promo is less expensive but must be treated as a different animal from one 8lb caddy to the next. What is gained through price is lost in consistency. Subsonic target loads are easily capable of accuracy levels exceeding even above average shooting skill. For me, Promo is adaptive in over a dozen handgun calibers, a dozen rifle calibers and two shotgun loadings. Flip side of the coin is that it only comes in 8lb caddy. Of course this is relative too, I get pissy because six is the shipping limit per package. Just another option. Roy
