I have a Lee DC plain base mold for their 93 grain .30 cal. pistol bullet.  But I haven't found any .32acp loading data for this bullet.  I know it is "heavier than usual" for the .32acp, but would like to develop an informal plinking load, since I already have the mold.

Anyone have related experience?

I have a 85 gr mold that was is a 100 gr mold with the back lube groove milled off.  It functions my CZ-50 reliably at 1.6 grs of Bullseye. I tried the bullet at 100 grs, 1 grain of Bullseye  would actually cycle the pistol and was 550 fps. I worked up to 1.4 grains at 730 fps but I felt it was too hot.

There is not a lot of powder space in a 32 acp and the 100 grain bullet bulged the case because of the deep seating. I agree that a 93 grain bullet is on the heavy side but it will probably work. As usual just start low and work up slowly.

"There is not a lot of powder space in a 32 acp " beemer has the key. I am using the RCBS 90 grain CM in my 32 ACP's that weight 92 grains from my alloy. I load them as long as possible so they will drop into the chamber. 2.2 grains of W231 works both the Colt and the Savages. FWIW

I used 1.5 grs of Bullseye with the Lee bullet. They do bulge the case a bit but found that R-P, Peters and REM-UMC cases have a little less wall thickness deep in the case. Magtech seems to have thinner walls also.

You may wish to peruse Ken Waters article in March 1992 "Handloader" on the 32 S&W that has the same case volume as the 32 ACP. If you don't have his "Pet Loads" book, you should. Ric

Most important is to maintain a minimum overall cartridge length of 0.955", otherwise deep seating of the bullet will spike pressure.

I am unfamiliar with the profile of the Lee bullet or if the bullet will impinge against the origin of rifling at that length.

My experience in loading .32 ACP is with the Accurate series of bullets 31-077B, 31-090B and 31-095T

With these the following loads work well:

.32 ACP Hand Loads OAL 0.955”

“Group 1” Loads which don’t exceed factory energy, suitable as a "steady diet" for use in Tomcat and Keltec pistols:
