By way of introduction, I am a newbie to this forum, although I was a CBA member in the '90's and active in the military rifle cast bullet matches during that period.

I have a friend who has an Ardito-barreled rifle and a couple of Eagan moulds.  He no longer uses them, and is trying to decide what to do with the rifle.

A couple of questions: what brand of barrel did Ardito normally use, and what twist?

I gather from a quick search that there is still some interest in this type of rifle, and would appreciate any feedback from members who are active/interested in this type of heavy bench rifle.

i have a ardito rifle that he built for me in 1992. after shooting appx . 250 rounds thru it; i quit and went back to my 1st love; trapshooting. it is cal. 308x1.625. hart bbl. 26 in. 1.250 dia. 14 in. twist. it came with its own rcbs rockchucker and special sizing die made for the eagan mold it uses. built on rem. 40x single shot action. i've started shooting lead again since retirement; but my interest is only in military. therefore it too is for sale; but, not sure of its value or interest in it

John fooled with different twists early on, but pretty soon settled on 14" twist in Hart barrels and seldom used anything else.

He also used RL7 powder to the exclusion of anything else and Federal 210M primers.  Usually reloaded one case at the range,

Loads were "hot", all I will say...
