Finally introducing myself

I'd like to apologize for not doing this sooner. I got on this site back in August.  My Daughter forced me into the 21st century by swapping my flip phone for a smartphone, giving me a tablet and a desktop. Then she wiified the house.

So here I am connected to the outside world.

I havn't joined yet. Money's tight. Just Joined 4/22/2017

I've started blending alloys & casting bullets again.  Now I'm getting deeper into the garage. I've started to attack it from both ends. Within 4-5 months I should be able to actually start loading ammo again.

About me; I started priming .38spl cases at about 4yrs old. Using a 310 tong tool.  Sitting on the garage floor, behind the other family members working at the long reloading bench. Casting started with an old Ideal 1cav round ball mold, for my Dad's.36NAVY. Still HATE dipper casting.

Shot ATA & NSSA in my early teens.  Made it to the top 10 in ATA Junior Division in 1970. Last real competition.  I did pick up a few Buckles & Plaques in S.A.S.S. in the early 1990'S.  But I never had the time or inclination to change over to .38spl mouse loads & become a gamer.  I was there for fun and hanging out with others of like mind.

I haven't done much shooting for the past several years.  Or casting either. I do crank out some .44 cowboy loads for a friend. I have just enough pathway & elbow room at my bench to run my HORNADY progressive.

I favor revolver's over auto's.  Old Lever Actions. Old blued steel bolt guns, wood-stocked. I like old bullet designs. KEITH, THOMPSON, LOVERIN.

As inefficient as it is I like to load a different cast bullet for every load. Round nose for an old M&P 38spl,  KEITH bullet for old COLT O.P. in .38spl & #454190 for SAA. I have a MAUSER 93 Carbine that shoots the #287405 into a dime-sized hole at 50yds all day long.

I'm kinda weird about keeping my various alloys sorted out. I've been fortunate enough to collect a wide variety of ingot molds over the years. Enough for:

OHAUS-Linotype,  LYMAN-#2,  SAECO-20/1, RCBS-Cww, LEE- Pure Lead and even some old RCBS blank ones.

Now after 50+ yrs of Casting/Handloading, for the first time I'm going to try Casting & working up loads for the .32's. With the “32 Pop Gun thread” I have really come to the right place.

I'm also very “wordy” and have an opinion on just about Everything.

BigMan54;

Welcome!

You have come to the right place. Their are a number of .32 fans hanging around (including me😜). Look around the forum, there are lots of good reccommendations for loading the .32's.

Dale53,

Thank you sir. I'm working on .32 stuff  as I cruise the site. Did some blending of alloys and casting of  "test bullets". last Sat.

Have those baggies of ''test bullets” in front of me right now. Going to test alloy hardness on my SAECO Lead Hardness tester.

See if the folks I bought the alloys from told/know the truth the different lead the sold me.
