The other day I was at my local range found an unfired factory loaded brass case round that was obviously a misfire as the primer was only slightly dented. It was loaded with a full metal case bullet and appeared to be a .357 mag.
It did prove to be a .357 mag. Nothing unusual about that excerpt for the fact that it had what appeared to me to be a military head stamp. WCC 86 and the primer appears to have a slight crimp.. Which translates to me as Western Cartridge Corporation 1986. Now I have seen such 38 specials before but not a .357 Magnum.
Any info out there as to the origin of this round?
