Anybody else out there getting really good accuracy with trailboss? I'm shooting 14grs. in my 30-06 remington shooting any bullet in the 200gr +- 10grs. I started using it for PB bullets but it seems to work very well in my Remington with GC's also.

A few years ago I tried Trail boss.  At the time I was doing all my load testing in a tunnel with a permanent chronograph set up and measuring all muzzle velocities.

Trailboss produced the lowest variation in MV of any of the powders I had ever used but sadly not very good groups -- very strange?

After reading your experience I will see what I can do with the left over powder in a different rifle.

John: I think about 19grns is max in an '06, but I did best with only 14grns. I'm working on my new old springfield now to see if it too likes TB.

I tried it briefly and accuracy was so so. I blame it on my older poor cleaning method. I now know how important a clean barrel helps accuracy.

Used Trail Boss in the Ground Hog match with PB bullets.  30-06  Springfield 03-A3 and it was shooting almost a one hole group.

I think it has great potential.

Jon: My experience exactly. I've had several  1 holers, but I'm still holding my breath till I move out to 1&200 yds. Ross

Used TB in Hornet last year and it wasn’t working out for me. Decided to try it again this year. My lucky 5 shot 100 yard group was 1 inch. So my interest is back. Several powders this year have given me a good group. But also several bad ones. Some powders do seem a little more consistent. Yet none have me feeling competitive. The best Trail Boss load was about 3/4 case. Will be trying this more in the near future.

 shootcast,

Your 3/4 case full load with Trailboss is right from the product recommendation, You verify their instructions. The loaders that ignore the instructions rarely report any spectacular accuracy results.

I'm with you on the less than max loads. 19 grns was listed by hornady as a max load but my accuracy came at only 14 grns. Haven't tried 13. I usually find best accuracy with less than max loads no matter the bullet or powder. Gives you a safety margin too.
