GWarden posted the topic below, so I decided to repost it with a poll to see how much interest we have for it.

How, and is there enough interest to have a postal match for cast with Black Powder. I think many underestimate the accuracy with cast and BP loads. Have bench 100 and 200 yd. , allow any lead bullet, breech seat or fixed. Could allow any power scope. There are some that have spent the time, and such loads will shoot right along with smokeless loads. Would be great to share the info with other shooters, and see just how good such BP loads can be developed. I would be willing to help with such a postal match in any way I could. You all have a good day.

You have to vote in the poll at the top of the link, or your vote won't be counted. After you click on the thread, the yes or no response is above, and then you have to hit cast vote.

Revolver - yes!  Now that I finally have some time what with all the kids out of the house, I would enjoy doing some postal matches

Thanks for noting the postal list in the Fouling Shot stops at #21.  I will work to get that revised promptly.

The #22 BPCR match is at a turkey silhouette.  Would this suffice for what you guys are thinking above or would you like to see something along the lines of the regular CBA target?  I am open to suggestions if you think there would be enough interest.

For one request though, if we could keep the various “divisions” to just a couple to start.  It keeps people from shooting in classes by themselves if we can limit to one or two.

I have a computer working again now, so I will check in on this thread as I prepare for the 2017 postal season.  If it doesn't make it in time to get into the match guide mailing, we can figure out a scenario that works and people that read this thread can order a match anyway.    Would anyone be up for acting as scorer?

I voted YES - but I would offer the following:  Summer months are full and not just with shooting and matches but lots of other fun and not so fun stuff - like painting the house.

The Postal Matches schedule for BPCR matches might get just as large a following if you used the early to mid Spring months to shoot it.  Maybe March, April & May.  I know I would have to pass if it were to be held in the summer just because there is already so much going on.

Greetings,

Sure, lets have a basic BP shoot.  I would like to see it start a bit later in the year as it is -38 now, and it gets cold in January and February.

Yes, I will give it a try. I've shot the CBA Postal's # 13 (Single Shot) and #22 (BPCR 200-yard) for quite a few seasons. This one will be like the #13 and almost like the #22 with the exception of target.  Here we will use a 200-yard Military CBA target while the CBA Postal uses a turkey silhouette, reduced in size to provide the sight picture you'd see as if you were shooting it at the NRA distance of 385-meters.

I have to find a new, more accurate load for my rifle before chasing the Postal events. But that's half the fun!

I have never played with black powder, but want to try it. Would substitutes be allowed?

Cool. I don't own any true black, and honestly don't know anywhere around here to buy it.

No vote only because I do not own a BP rifle. Outstanding idea though.
