I have a pair of Parker V Grade 12 gauge guns with fluid steel barrels . One is on a #1 frame the VHE and the others on a #2 frame .

The #2 frame VH is sitting out waiting to pound a deer now with my handloaded ) Buck loads .

Gonna close out the season in an adjacent county with some old friends so I think I'll carry it along for when we do some drives !

Well the Virginia deer season is officially over in my area and I wasn't able to blood either of the Parker 12's !

There's always next year however .

Let me see what I can do !

I'm in the process of cleaning all the stuff I had out for hunting season and putting it all back in the safe before I leave for the Philippines in mid February .

Might be able to get a group pic of the pair of Parker's with my pair of Sterlingworth 12's and pair of Smith 12's !

FWIW the Parker VHE just returned in the last couple weeks from Giacamo I had to have the underlug on the barrel resoldered . Seems that thing had been cracked for about twenty years . They also reblued the barrels and did a very nice job I might add !

On the back of the chair you see a deer hide . That was a Sika hind I killed during the 1999 season in Dorchester County Maryland . Shot it with the little Remington Model 7 stainless synthetic in 260 REM I bought when the cartridge first hit the market in 1996 I believe .

Some of the finest shotguns made in the USA. Dad had an old Fox 20ga. I sure wish he wouldn't have sold it back in the 50's!

Took that AH Fox 16 to a sporting clays joint last week and while I most certainly didn't break them all I did what I thought was okay .

Seems the VTA (VA Trap Assoc) in Winchester VA will have a side by side 50 bird 16 yard trap event at the VA State Shoot this year ! And at the moment it's my intention to shoot the above pictured Parker VH 12 gauge on the #2 frame in that event . Took it out and shot trap with it some the other week . Once I got my head straight that the gun shot really flat I didn't miss .  In the past all my trap and skeet guns patterned about 70/30 to POA , this gun at best is 50/50 so I can't do my usual of putting the bird a bit above the bead and smacking the trigger .

Took the Parker VH out the last 2 wednesdays and shot 2 rounds of trap each day . So I'm pretty comfortable with the old gun again . Wanna shoot two more rounds today at trap and possibly a round of skeet with my LC Smith Ideal Grade 12 gauge . Seems there's going to be a vintage skeet and trap shoot in Abbotsville PA in mid july ! 25 trap birds from 16 yards , 25 trap birds from 21 , one round of regular skeet and 13 pair of skeet doubles for a grand total of 101 birds . At this shoot you can also shoot a Pre 1930 single barrel trap and I just so happen to have a rather nice old Ithaca SBT !  But then again it's open to ANY GAUGE , so I may just shoot my W&C Scott 10 gauge in all four events !

Shot my fourth 50 bird at trap with the Parker VH 12 gauge . First two weeks I shot alone and quickly and broke a pair of 45's . The third week I shot with another fellow , he'd shoot 5 and I'd shoot 5 for 50 birds and I ended up with a 46 . This week 4 of us shot in a normal squad and I put the puller under my foot and pulled for everyone , while doing it with a little more difficulty I shot a 49 . Next week we'll do the 50 bird side by side race at the VA State Trap Shoot !
