I have an old, discontinued Lee mold for 44 caliber 208 grain wadcutters. I use it mainly for plinking; it doesn't kick much and makes big holes......

Thinking about a 245g. button nosed 44. I have a 185 44 that I don't use.

I have a Lee six cavity Group Buy .44 caliber 200 gr wadcutter mold that works quite well.
Accurate Bullet Molds has several different wadcutter designs for both .44's and .45's. I've never heard a bad word about Accurate molds although I don't own any personally.

Me too ,in 44 and 45. I am not sufficiently good at bullseye shooting and too lazy to shoot groups from a sandbag rest to tell the difference using wc or traditional 200 gr round -flat nose bullets . The cowboy style round flat noses feed well in the carbines and drop better in the cylinder than wadcutters .. In the pic are some 44sp & Magnums.

But-t-t, the wadcutters cut a clean hole in paper or flesh and do a fine job on edible small game. The range limited design (good to a bit past fifty yards) doesn't really come into play at the ranges I have used them for.
Yes, I've done quite a bit of long range shooting and for that I use SWC's.

That is the good thing about casting your bullets , just get an economic mould for the bullet you like ,and you can make infinite experiments .
The recreatin and fun are endless, modern molds production systems allow the production of custom design and dimensions at reasonable price.

Lyman once made a 245 gr. wadcutter for the .44 caliber. #429352. I have one of them. They also made a 180 gr. wadcutter, #429348. Don't know is Lee still makes one but they used to make one, about 180 or maybe a 200 gr. WC bullet. Don't remember the exact weight. I got one for a friend when we made some self defense loads for a Charter .44 Spl. Bulldog. You might be able to find one of the Lee's but I think the Lymans have been long gong unless you get lucky at a gun show or some such.Paul B.
