Finally I won a Parker 10 gauge hammerless . Well it still needs to get here .
Just won it on Gunbroker !
It's what seems to be a rather nice Parker EH grade 10 gauge on a #2 frame with 30” Damascus barrels and made in 1889 technically in the first full year of the Parker hammerless shotgun .
This gun matches all in the “Parker Identification and Serialization” book !
These are pics from the auction on GB !!!!

Made it out to the gunclub this afternoon ! Took the EH as well as my Parker Grade 2 hammer top lever 10 gauge and my Parker Grade 2 hammer lifter 10 gauge and my Krieghoff K-32 . Shot a round of skeet with the EH and broke 22 of 25 not bad for a gun that's choked M/IM . Next I shot a round with the top lever 10 gauge and broke 23 of 25 that ones IC/M . Shot a few shots at skeet with the lifter 10 gauge and broke all of them . On a side note I tried hand loaded 0 Buck in the EH at 25 yards . The right barrel made a nice 20” pattern and the left barrel was in maybe 24” . Not great but not bad either . Then I tried the lifter gun with the same load . The right barrel IC was all 12 pellets inside 12” , the left barrel M was all 12 pellets inside 16” both at 25 yards and I thought that was awesome . Deer are on the menu for both these guns next season .

Made some 1 1/8 ounce loads for the EH today . Wanna try and shoot a round of skeet and a round of trap with the EH Wednesday afternoon . Also perhaps some more buckshot on the pattern board .

Went out today and shot one round of skeet and one round of trap with the EH ended up with a combined 45 of 50 . That unto itself isn't that great until one realizes I was pulling for myself by stepping on the pickle .
Also tried it on the pattern board with handloaded 000 and 00 Buck . This old gun seems to like my buckshot handloads !

Getting ready to do the buckshot loading for my Parker 10 gauge 2 7/8". Already know it'll be 8 of the 000 Buck pellets per shell and I think 6 9mm cases full of Grex . For the 00 Buck it'll be 12 pellets and 6 9mm cases of Grex and the same for ) Buck . For #1 Buck there will be 16 pellets and not sure about the Grex . For #2 Buck it looks like 22 pellets and the jueys out on the amount of Grex . I've never tried #2 Buck before but I lucked into 6 or 7 pounds of it recently , so I figured what the heck .

Just finished counting buckshot holes and am still at the gunclub . All loads were fired from the bench at 25 yards . #3 Buck was 20/26 pellets in the right barrel and 21/26 in the left barrel . #2 Buck in the right barrel was 16/22 and the left was 18/22 . #1 Buck in the right was 11/16 and the left was 15/16 . #0 Buck in the right barrel was 11/12 and the left was 10/12 . 00 in the right was 10/12 and the left was 12/12 . And finally 000 in the right was 8/8 and the left was 8/8 of also !

Well I need to round up some more #1 Buck and some 0 Buck . I'm outta #1 and my supply of 0 is getting a bit low .

Loaded some lead #2 birdshot yesterday . 1 1/4 ounce and tried it in both barrels from 25 and 40 yards .Even though the guns choked M/IM it did very well at 40 yards for geese with the #2 shot . So I will try #1 Bismuth birdshot in it soon .

Just made a couple orders for ammo and components ! From Precision Reoading I got a 7 pounder of #1 Bismuth bird shot , a 25 pounder of Remington #1 Buck , some new Remington 10 gauge hulls , some overshot 10 gauge card wads and some 16 gauge 1/4” Nitro wads to use in the 10 gauge shot cups . From Cheaper the Dirt I ordered a FLAT of Spartan 20 gauge #1 Buckshot shells thats 250 shells . I think some of those will be sold in the shop 50 of them should last me a lifetime or so ! The Bismuth is most certainly for this Parker and a couple other 10 gauge guns in my possesion !

I've been looking the Ballistics Products webpage over lately and have a slight inclination to order some of their “0000” buck . But with this I'll need to change my load a shade . Use a gas seal wad a couple buffer wads a Mylar wrap 6 of the pellets and buffer . Wish there was a way I could load these inside the Remington SP-10 wad but they'd be to tight for layers of two .

That's outstanding! I love seeing old guns being used and looked after. No use to me hanging on a wall or stored for a keepsake.

I have a number of “old timers” I use quite regularly !
Think I have 3 W&C Scotts , 4 Parkers and one LC Smith I shoot semi reglularly and all were made before 1892 .
All Damascus as well I might add !

Had a twofer today !
In the morning I got one with my circa 1889 Parker EH 10 gauge loaded with handloaded 000 Buck in both barrels . Shot this young lady at 15 yards and as one might expect DRT !
