Hello,

Just joined the forum after having found it a couple of days ago searching for loading data for 405 Win.

I've been reloading since about 1971 and shooting my own cast bullets for nearly as long.  Currently having fun with 38-55, 375 Win, and 405 Win.  Have been shooting paper patched, and lubed cast in my Ruger #3 375 Win since about '82 (?) and my Marlin 38-55 CB for several years.

I also shoot cast in a 35 Rem and 35 Whelen and handguns.

GP,  We'll see how it goes with the 405.  I've purchased an RCBS PP mold, but it's supposed to throw a 400 grain bullet.  I'm going to see about having a new base plug made for it so I can vary the bullet weight.  I'd like to cast about a 350 gr bullet.

I've had very good luck with paper patched bullets in my .375 Win, and my Marlin 38-55 CB.  I bought a 9.3mm Lyman mold in the 80's and it paper patches up well to 375, and strangely shoots well in the Marlin even though it's got a groove dia of ~.380".

I'll post how the 405 (TC Encore) likes paper patched.
