witch 30 cal R shell to use

I would like to use a 30 Cal R shell in my Encore contender what would be a good one to use?

does ” r ” mean rimmed ?? i am big on the 32-20 myself , for fun and rabbits ... if for deer and hogs i kinda get nostalgic for the 30-40 krag . and of course hard to beat 30-30 for anything with cast bullets; brass everywhere . i feel others will have more opinions ( g ) .

I think the necked down 357 maximum case (30 Herrett ?) is very popular. I forget what they call that round?   I have a barrel chambered for 300 Whisper, but it has less powder capacity then the necked down .357 maximum

The .30 Herrett works well with 12 to 14 inch barrel if you like forming brass.

 The .30-30 is the parent case and you can use that case without forming.

The twist with either caliber should be I in 10” with seating for 165 to 200 grain bullets.

cast: My favorite Encore barrel is the 15” 762x39R It never met a bullet, jacketed or cast it didn't like. The Lee C309-113-F over 9gr. Unique is my favorite. GP
