I've been plinking with a ruger gunsite scout 308 a bit lately.I settled on little dandy rotor #10 that throws 7.8 or so of tightgroup.I haven't chronographed it but it's a solid 2 moa(many times better ) with eds nei #72 155g gas check.I may get away with no gc but for now I'm really happy with tightgroup.

TiteGroup is the powder I've been playing with lately in rifle rounds, every thing from 223 to 444 Marlin. Chrono'd some 223 powder coated today and 7gr. ran 2245 fps. 7 or 8gr shows promise in 8x57 and 35Rem. Just picked up another 4lb. bottle last week to go with the 3lbs. already on my shelf. That should make ALOT of 9mm Luger. Gp

Welcome to the world of TiteGroup in reduced rifle loads. It works well. The law of diminishing returns will be found with TiteGroup as experimenters try it in longer and longer cases than .308 Win. But it sure works in .308. I believe it would work well in the short magnums too but I won't be trying it in 30-06 or 375 H&H until Hodgdon recommends it there.

Personally, I already use TiteGroup in .223, 7.62X39, 30-30, 308, 500 S&W and my best shooting 12 ga round ball load.

I shot at the 30-06 a few years ago and it works just fine with plain base bullets. I believe my charger seven and a half grains with a 175 grain bullet and I was getting about 1150.

linoww: As a guideline, 9.5 gr. of Titegroup with a Lyman 311299 200 gr. bullet gave me an avg. 1350 fps, e.s. 24 fps, s.d. 8 fps, as well as a very decent group of 10 shots--about 1-1/2” at 100 yds..HTH. This is in an over-the-course rifle, built for competition in High Power also in .308 Win. Bill

In theory, there's no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is. My fate is not entirely in Gods hands, if I have a weapon in mine.

Thanks. I've been to lazy to drag out the chronograph.
