So nice the Chinese copies it (in a very rough and ready way).

Mature, Rick, Mature.   When I got the rifle back then, the original idea was to build it into the old German hunting rifle style with a full length stock, double set triggers. a lever released floor plate and shotgun style trigger guard. At the time I  got a pretty nice long blank of Iowa walnut and made the floor plate. And that's as far as I got.  Over time, I decided  that this was way too much work and I really didn't want to cut into that blank the more I looked at it. So this is where everything stopped until a week ago.

RD,

At our mature positions, I can see we are re-evaluating our time. I very much enjoyed the five years it took me to build my flintlock with hand tools, but would not do it again. That is a very nice piece of wood, and will be a good investment at some future time. Plus you have a nice 22 to shoot now.

Ric
