Hey guys, I was wondering if you all could give us an update as who designed what bullet molds for the 44 cal. bullets. I'd like to update the 44-40 website. Still missing some old ones and there have been some new ones added like Ed's 43-206H

  • 43-205DT -

  • 43-205M - by Mark Whyte aka Springfiled Slim Website

  • 43-206H - Ed Harris, aka Outpost75
  • 43-208A (Heeled) - by Bryan Austin aka Savvy Jack. Slightly heeled at .427 with an exposed driving band of .429

  • 43-210B - by aka Fairshake aka Cajun Shooter, same profile as the Lyman 427098.

  • 43-210G -

  • 43-214A - by Bryan Austin, Replicates the nose of the 43-215C minus the crimp grove and replicates the body of the 427098, for smokeless or black powder. Achieved 30/40 shot 4" groups @ 100 yards using Reloder 7.

  • 43-215C - by John Kort aka w44wcf aka w30wcf, replicates the 427098 but adds a large lube groove for black powder, crimp groove. Achieved 30 shot 4" groups at 100 yards with black powder.

  • 43-215CB -

  • 43-220C -

  • 43-225D - Ed Harris, aka Outpost75 (44 Magnum Frame 44-40 Revolvers)

43-230EB was one of my experimentals several years back, intended for black powder rifle use.

It was based upon John Kort's 43-215C, just adding a .03 bevel base and widening the base band to bump up the weight a bit.

I sold the mold to go with my Rossi .44-40 carbine, as it was the best shooting bullet with either black or smokeless in that particular rifle.  New owner "Jersey Devil" says that it stays on Army "E" silhouette at 200 yards with black powder loads cast 1 to 30 tin-lead from Roto Metals with SPG lube and also stays on it at 100 yards firing black powder from his 5-1/2" Ruger Vaquero with chamber necks and throats opened up by John Taylor.

43-230E was ordered by one of Tom's customers who liked my bullet, but didn't want a bevel base.

I have designed several Accurate bullets for 44"s but they are for 44 Special and Magnum. Accurate does not provide much information on the web site. It would be great if there were a place for information on all Accurate molds.

The 43-230E is a Big Favorite of mine. Glad to hear it has a GOOD Provenance.
