Depending on your twist, alloy hardness and how fast you are gonna push it you could have pretty good results. I have a 180-sp from RCBS and it shoots good at about 1500fps out of my Savage M-12 308. That is a bore ride bullet and lends itself well to lower velocities out of #2 alloy.

I believe I have that. It has multiple grooves. Mine saw almost all of its use in t/c contender 30-30s. It performed very well and could be shot in excess of 1800fps from a 14'' barrel. RP

I might have to get me one of these.I take it, this is the bullet of which you speak.

http://www.castpics.net/memberarticles/RCBS%2030%20SPS%20Bullets.htm I've shot the old style 30-180-SP in my 30-30 and it is one heck of a bullet. The mould was mis-stamped 30-180-FN, but it is definitely the one in the article.

Is it tapered like the Saeco 315 bullet?

I have that mold and it has worked excellent in the 06 and 30-40 Krag with a smaller than normal bore. It did drop a bit smaller than I liked, so did the aluminum tape shim trick to make it just a smidge larger. I had hoped originally it would work in the K31, but have not had a chance to try it yet. jeff

It almost looks like an “evolved” Loverin design. One more for the list. I don't get it. Every time I cross one off, three more have taken it's place.

Jim That is just how it goes, trust me you are not the only one with that problem. :)
