There has been many references to Elmer and his articles, I offer a website with many (if not all) articles. You can discern by titles for the loading data, but I also enjoy reading his adventures and pine for the days of my early youth when these were still possible.

For those in the West, this could be a fun long weekend to attend the annual match. You will need to join the website, but they do not spam you with unwanted email.

Hello Bud Hyett,

You started my old brain into fast forward mode when I read your post. My question is, since my old brain is not very computer savy and I lack a lot of patience to try to figure out things on the computer , how much and where do I send money to get some of the CD'S.

I figured there would be more people responding and commenting about this website. There must not be as many older members as I thought there was. I often wonder, by todays value of old single action Colts, how many dollars in Colt SA's did Elmer Keith blow up or eventually burn the top strap in-half. Thanks again Bud for posting about this website.

Or you can download the articles to your hard drive, or a thumb drive, for yourself to read at your leisure.

Elmer wrote a regular column for Guns magazine for years. They offer 50 year old issues, in PDF form, from 1955 to 1969 at

Great information. These articles are tempting me to read the entire day. And I have things to do in the reloading shed. I have already skipped breakfast to read several articles and savor the 1959 list price of my SAKO L461 Varmint in one ad.
