After all the inquiries I've made about John Ardito rifles and what they like to shoot, I have finally found a tapered bullet based on an Eagan bullet design. It fits the tapered throat of my rifle and consistency is much better. It's the 31-190J mold by Accurate Molds. So if you have one of John's rifles with a tapered throat , I recommend this mold. It's getting me closer to John A.'s statement that he could build a half minute rifle for anybody. I'm averaging .7+ right now.

when i had john audito build my rifle; it came with a eagan mold, rcbs press and a swaging die to swage the bullet to the same taper as the throat. i don't like the load at the bench process that john used. so, if i decide to shoot the gun again i will form 30 + brass and pre load at home.  OR sell everything for $1700.00

I size my bullet at .312 which is just enough to put the gas check on and lube the gas check "gap". It also fills the start of the taper in the throat and still allows the nose to touch the riflings. Cast of 3lino to 1 ww. I use 21 gr. r-7 or 26 gr. of n135 in the 308x1.625 case. Standard caveat applies, my load my risk. I load 50 at a time at home, but I have some ardito style cases that came with the rifle I might try again, just for fun.
