Hi. Yes, I have one, but I primarily use it to deprime my Black Powder .45-70 cases after firing at the range before I throw them into a jar of water to soak. To your question of "would it be faster?," I'd say the answer is no, a bench depriming die (whether you were sizing or just using a universal decapping die,) would be much faster. Now, if the questions is, can you sit down and watch TV while you're depriming cases? Then the Harvey (or any hand depriming unit) would be a good fit. One final thought is the Harvey doesn't capture the spend primers as they are knocked from the case, so unless you have a tray in your lap, or work over one, then it'll make a mess. Just my $0.02. Ed
Growing old is mandatory, growing up, however, is totally optional!

Cool tool! However for pure speed, I have a Lee C-press with a universal deprime die. Depriming is its sole purpose and sits on the end of the bench. It does have to have a standard shell holder but if you're going to reload the brass, there is a good probability you have one anyway. Just for convenience, I have the Lee shell holder set on the shelf above it.

I don't own a Harvey tool but I've been happy with my Frankford Arsenal hand depriming tool. I've deprimed hundreds of military crimped in primers with this tool and these do require a firm squeeze but the pin is up to the task. I hate getting the grit from spent primers in the works of my presses and always avoid depriming on press. Gp

Remember that primer residue has lead so don't be cavalier about where you deprime brass

Like redleged above, after shooting my BPCR, I de prime and soak the cases until I get home. Not usually being in a hurry, I use an old Lyman tong tool, set up to just de prime. While there isn’t a TV present to distract me, there is usually a chatty Kathy nearby who wants to talk. For smokeless cases, they get de primed in the case neck sizing die at home.
