Is there anyone out there that has any load information for the new 3 inch 28 gauge magnum shotshell. I would appreciate very much if you would share.

Not yet, I've even sent an email to CZ asking them when and where they will be available and if it is possible to expedite. Patience is not a strong virtue with me.

Hello Bud,

I found a source for new primed 3 inch 28 gauge cases but still haven't found any load data. The cases were reasonably priced, only about a dollar per 100 higher than the 2 3/4 inchers. They are Fioochi  brand. (I'm sure I misspelled that word) I haven't got to reload any shells as of now because some of my wads were back ordered.

.Have you received your double gun?

Funny are the parallels in life, I also had a Remington 870 28 gauge that I gave to my granddaughter with a case of 3/4 ounce 7 1/2 shot. Also a Stevens Favorite .22 LR when she was eight years old. The 28 gauge is used to keep starlings away from the house and farm buildings. It is very effective. I picked up a used MEC 28 gauge reloader the following year and gave that to her and her Dad.

When she was twelve or thirteen, a boy classmate called her about some school work assignment. Her Dad said he would get her, she was cleaning her shotgun. She came back to her Dad and asked why he said that. The boy wanted to talk more about the shotgun than the assignment.

Hello Bud,

Thanks for your response. If you haven't owned a 28 before you will be pleasantly surprised and will fall in love with it. I hunted with a pump 870 Remington for over 30 years. I gave it to my granddaughter for her 13th birthday and bought myself a new 28 gauge auto-loader with the new 3 inch chamber. I envy you getting a double barrel 28. I'm still in the market for a double and if I find what I'm looking for I will own it also.

I haven't found any 3 inch ammo available here in this area but last night I found new primed 3 inch 28 gauge cases. I have saved my empties for over 30 years and kept saying I was going to buy a 28 loader but never did. Now that my granddaughter has a 28 and she loves to shoot and hunt, I bought a 28 loader. It will be here tomorrow or Monday.

Does the double you ordered have the 3 inch chamber? All that I have ever fired in my 870 was the Winchester 1 Oz.. maximum load. That load is amazing in it's performance on game. I have killed turkey with it. The first gobbler that I shot I almost let spoil because I was hauling it around showing my buddies who think they have to have a 3 1/2 12 to kill a turkey what a 28 would do to a turkeys head and neck.

I bought a box of the Federal 1 Oz. maximum loads the other day to compare their performance with the Winchester heavy loads. They had much more recoil than the Winchesters and when you notice recoil in a 28 there must be a wide recoil gap between the two.

I also have wads and shot wads coming tomorrow. I can't wait to get started. If I discover and loading material for the 3 inch I will list it on the forum. I have lots of loading info for the 2 3/4 shellMashburn.

I would contact Hodgdon reloading, they might be working on loads that are not yet published.

Please publish our results, I have a side-by-side 28 gauge ordered.
