Modified Ed's Red

Yesterday I mixed up a couple of batches of modified Ed's Red,   I wanted a mix more friendly to stock finishes, so left out Acetone. 

1 part ATF

1part Gum Turpentine  ( this was in original arsenal formula..and I like the smell)

1 part K-1 Kerosene

1 part DME brand honing oil  (very light highly refined oil & mineral spirits)

1/2 oz. Anhydrous Lanolin

 

1 part ATF

1 part Stoddard solvent

1 part K-1 Kerosene

1 part DME honing oil

1/2 oz. Anhydrous lanolin.

I heated the ATF in stainless container in double boiler..figured it could take a little heat & helped the melted Lanolin mix better.  set can on bench & added other ingredients.  I'll  have to wait until Spring before trying out at range.
