My wife passed on May 22, 2019 of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. It's most always fatal. She suffered terribly. She was so happy & full of life. She was diagnosed at the end of March & passed on May 22nd. We had been together for 21 years. I am starting to do a little better with it now. Thinking that I should do more casting & shooting. It'll get me out of my own head. Sorry for my absence. -Pat

If someone else had of done to me what I did to myself . . . I'd have killed him. Humility is an asset. Heh - heh.

Jim, Your photo reminds me of when I lived in Monterey, CA.. I would go to the beach at night, under full moon and watch the wave breaking. It was mesmerizing. It took me out of my head. Thank you for your picture.

Jim,

That is a powerful photo. I can see how it exudes the turmoil, solitude and dreariness that you must be felling.

Thinking of you frequently.

Yes May 18, 2019. I live in a suburb of Minneapolis.

David, forgive me but I am going to post a none shooting picture. Pat I find this picture describes my emotions many days. I took this picture on a forlorn stormy morning on Sanibel.

May 18, 2019? I am so sorry. I'm just adrift in a sea of emotions . . . for you . . . for me . . . for our wives. I know that I have to keep doing the things I used to love to do, until I love to do them again. Thank you so much for your post. Guess I'm not alone.

My thoughts are with you.I guess you are on the right path when you say that casting and shooting will help you through it;not to forget but to get a few moments away from the exhausting pain.

Pat

I lost my wife of 50 years to the same form of leukemia on May 18. My heart felt condolences to you. I have no useful advice other than to try to end each day still breathing. I am told we each grieve differently and I am told someday it will get easier.  I believe it will but not yet.

I have turned to my cameras to help me get out of my own head. My desire to shoot will return too - soon I hope.

May God give you the strength you need to carry on. If I can be of help just PM me.

Jim

Pat, We have never met but live not more than 30 mile apart. At times like this I’m at a loss of words. Only time will help and wonderful memories. Sorry for your loss.
