We will look forward to your contributions and if you shoot cast in a 6.5 as your handle implies we would like to hear how to do it.
Started casting around 2010 for 41 mag, then 38 Spl and 357Mag awhile later 222 Rem and 45 LC for a friend who bought a Judge. As i write this i`m starting a 6.5 creedmoor custom rifle build on a Savage axis action and will be casting for that soon, i`m exploring moulds now, thinking i`ll try Brass moulds they seem to strike a balance between Iron (PITA) and Aluminum, which i like and have 7 of them, but recent production seems like the quality is suffering. I`ll update when i decide and start pouring .264 / 140gr.
I have a 4-cavity NOE brass mold #266-140 FN that shoots well in my XP-100, chambered in 6.5 BR. Prior to that I shot a lot of the Saeco #264. The alloy is 50/50 mono/lino.
Long time Caster/Reloader, Getting back into it after almost 10yrs. Life Member NRA 40+yrs, Life S.A.S.S. #375. Does this mean a description of me as a fumble-fingered knuckle-draggin' baboon. I also drool in my sleep. I firmly believe that true happiness is a warm gun. Did I mention how much I HATE auto-correct on this blasted tablet.
Just got 100,146 gr FNGC bullets from mattsbullets yesterday and polished the bore of a new Savage Axis. I`ve ordered a scope rail and expect that 4/16 courtesy of USPS(fingers crossed) and will then mount a Bushnell Banner ive had on a rem 700. Already have Hornady and S&G ammo which will be used first to break in the rifle and provide brass for reloading. THEN i can start living up to my handle.
