i don't use a rougher reamer ... i pre-drill to remove excess metal, then bore about 3/4 of the case length deep ... straight bore or if you like math a tapered bore ... this guides the finishing reamer into center with the spindle center ..... and thus the bore if it has been dialed in very closely .
so i don't need to buy a rougher reamer . but if i did have the rougher, i would use it after boring to remove a little more metal .
with pre-drill and bore, a tool steel finishing reamer should last a few dozen chamberings without re-sharpening . without pressure coolant flush, typically i feed in 0.050 then clean and re-oil chamber and reamer .. never let chips fill more than halfway up the reamer flutes .
just some thoughts .

If you go to the Gray Beard Outdoors forum, when you get to their opening page on the left is a company that rents reamers, go and no go gauges. Brodie
