I have a Swiss K31 with what appears to be a decent bore. Since I can't see open sights very well, I thought I'd try to mount a scout scope. Anyone have any suggestions as to a good brand to go with? Also, I have two Burris EIR scopes, one is a two power, the other is a four. My main use is to poke holes in paper and maybe take it deer hunting. Thanks for any and all help.
Swiss K31 scout scope mount

If you should decide you'd like a traditionally-located scope, St. Marie Products makes a very good no-drill, no modification scope mount that is economical and effective. It locates over the receiver, and removes with allen wrenches. They currently make an aluminum version, and previously made a somewhat more expensive steel version which appears to be discontinued. I have used the steel version on 2 K-31's with excellent results.
They have a 3/8" rail allowing an unbroken range of placement for the rings to accomodate your eye relief preferences and the location of your scope turrets. While the 3/8" rail may not sound effective, it is; in my testing, full-power match and Swiss service ammunition grouped well with no tendency of the rings to shift. You can find them by searching on "Swiss Products."
My K-31's are going up for sale, so if you decide you are interested in the steel version of the mount, I will be happy to sell below my original cost. These are well proven and accepted in the K-31 enthusiast community.
Hope this helps,
John
