Hornady .22 68 gr. HPBTM, Titegroup, M10 Savage, Shilen 9” twist bbl., 5-shot 100-yard groups.

5.5 Titegroup, 1340 fps, bullets sideways, groups of 1.0”, .5”,  and 1.2; avg .900”

 

6.5 Titegroup, 1517 fps, all tipping, groups of .90”, .80”, .95”; avg .883”

 

7.5 Titegroup, 1713 fps, most tipping, groups of .75”, .7”, 1”; avg . .817.

 

8.5 Titegroup, 1872 fps, some tipping, groups of 1.05”, 1.275”, .7”; avg. 1.008”.

 

 

 

It seems that sideways/tipping bullets are sometimes accurate. I guess I don’t know what “stability” means.

When ever I get bullets hitting sideways I'm lucky to even hit the target to see what's happening.
