The Cattleman II has a Brass trigger guard and grip. Is that strong enough for several thousand rounds of 45LC ?

Keep the grip frame tight, possibly even the weaker Loctite or similar, If the grip moves with the frame, there will be no wear. With the lighter loads in the Colt SAA frames, these loads do not generate much wear.
The Colt Single Action style frame is noted for working loose. Ruger used Nylok screws when he developed and introduced the Blackhawk revolvers.

Brass grip and trigger guard do not affect durability. Enjoy the Cattleman.
It is the brass FRAMES of cap & ball revolvers which tend to stretch and loosen with heavy use.
