What is a good rifle case for rifle with target scope.

Most hard cases are not made to fit rifles with target type scopes. The oversized windage turret either prevents the case from closing or pokes hard against the side inviting damage.  What cases are thick enough to accmomodate such scopes and still have some padding in play?

I don't know if we're allowed to post links like this or not, but here's a Pelican item number that should fill your bill, copy and paste at Pelican's website:  472-PWC-M24A3-OD.   The interior thickness is 6".

John,

Maybe look at a Plano product called the "Airglide Rifle Case". The gun sits kind of upright and is liked by some because the scope is not in contact with the inside of the case. I've used one for 9-years for my Sharps Model 74 BPCR (no scope). I like the hold down straps and foam supports for key sections of the rifle, etc.Just be sure you know the max. length of your rifle to make sure it will fit inside the case, 50" max. length.

+1 for Airglide, although the butt plastic is a little thing.

Watch that weight...case with rifle can be heavy. Try to find one that is not too heavy.

Very good point, some them have wheels for good reason.

I've used a plano with the latch mounted inside the handle and they're a pain. Got a pelican with latches on ends, and four on front. Like it much better. The rollers are a must.
