I found this tiny mold at a gun show last weekend. It is still in the vintage Ideal box with a red label. Sized and lubed it produces a 57 gr., .312” dia. bullet. The mold is marked “Special". Has anyone any idea what caliber this mold was intended for? It has just one very small grease groove. Thanks Bruce

At 57 gr., I wonder if it is an early version of the current 77 gr. 311252 Posted by Chicken Men: I found this tiny mold at a gun show last weekend. Would have potential for one of the new fangled .30cal air rifles.
Cheers from New Zealand

The special is the bottom band and lube groove on the cherry where above the top of the mould blocks. So, you get a light weight bullet with just the nose, two bands and one lube groove. Remember the days when a company wanted happy customers? Ric
