Can anyone comment on the velocity limits of using Rooster Jacket lube in revolver loads. I am trying out this lubrication method in the interest of saving time by skipping the sizing step. One of my most used loads for the 357 is just below 1000 fps. I expect no problems with 38 special loads. I have the thought that it works in a narrower range than liquid alox but can not find any reference to backup my memory of this. I have no intension of pushing loads for maximum velocity.Keith

Any load in which a soft, 8-10 BHN plainbased bullet works well is appropriate for Rooster Jacket.

I'm having the same experience as Mr. Harris. I cast straight Wheel Weights and load to about 900 fps @.359” in the .38 and go .452” in the .45. I get a smudge of lead at the forcing cone sometimes after a few boxes. It pushes right out.
