A fellow gun crank I know calls me this week and says he has something I might like play with. I’m thinking a bullet mould but he hands me a case with a 1920s era Winchester Low Wall in .22RF and says “shoot it”. Not being one to check the teeth on a free pony.......I did. Went to range this morning with a 100 year rifle and 40 year old Eley target ammo. Astounding result at 55 yards/50m. Lowest shot was the first from a clean barrel. The two highest are operator errors. The remaining seven are in a group 0.4 x 0.95 inch. Pretty happy with iron sights and 48 year eyes. Would love to take it after rabbits but alas it is not mine and worth a mint.
Cheers from New Zealand
