I agree that shooting in the order cast, won't change the accuracy. Generally the reason that Old Coot sites, is the rational. But, science says that once mixed, always mixed.
But, you can't tell that to the current holder of the small, 200 yard, 5 shot record (.275), he swears by it.

I always figured that this particular myth belonged on the floor of the dairy barn. It probably started when people were casting over an open fire and thought for some reason that the alloy of the lead in the pot of a poorly regulated heat source would change over time. I suppose that the casters were trying to keep the alloy content of their bullets as close to one another as possible. IF the above makes any sense that is.
